RECLAIMING THE BLACK NARRATIVE IN FULL

Building The World's Premier Archive of the Global Black Diaspora

For generations, the images that define Black life have been scattered across more than 300 archives. The triumphs, the beauty, the ordinary and extraordinary days of an entire people were held by community organizations, Black newspapers, family estates, churches, and photographers who never saw a single platform worthy of their collection. Until now.

The Obsidian Collection brings all of it together. Images not seen in decades, accompanied by accurate, verified metadata that transforms a photograph into a story. Not just who is in the image. But who took it, where, why, what was happening in the world that day, and what it means to the culture that created it.

Archive Partnership Model · Built for Wealth Building

A Platform Built for The Culture

Whether an archive joins us as a partner or chooses to sell, the outcome is the same: their legacy reaches the world and generates lasting value.

Some archive owners will license their collections through Obsidian, retaining ownership while earning revenue every time their images appear in films, publications, AI training sets, and digital media. Others will choose to sell, converting decades of stewardship into immediate, meaningful wealth. Both paths are honored here. What Obsidian guarantees in either case is that these images are treated with the accuracy, dignity, and commercial power they have always deserved. This is wealth building for The Culture, on The Culture's own terms.
